I've visited a number of the other towns chosen...Jupiter Island and Naples, FL...Half Moon Bay, Tiburon, Carmel and Sausalito CA, Ogunquit, ME and Stonington, CT. My favorite of those is Carmel...But, I know Chatham is where we want to stay...the only thing I'd change is the long winter weather. Other than that, the beauty enlivens the spirit...

When my mother "saw" the images of the lightning bolt hitting the ship, it was from "reading" her teacup. She would be considered a psychic medium, but, never thought of herself in that way. Her intuition was highly attuned throughout her life...she started, at a very early age, interpreting representations in cups and cards and by picking up on a person's energy. She had precognitive dreams throughout her life...she always amazed me with her predictions... Strangely enough, my mother and L. had gone to a psychic before L. took the trip...he told her that "if she went over deep water, she'd never return"...my mother reminded her of this, but, tragically, she paid no attention to it...

Mitt Romney has taken a stand against women's rights...condemning birth control and abortion rights, wanting to overturn a national health care system, Planned Parenthood, etc., etc...his wife's appearances to heighten his appeal won't go far with thinking women in this country.

Reading the "Global Post"...their special report on the injustice girls and women of Afghanistan face is horrifying. The US led an offensive in 2001 that led the Taliban to head to Pakistan. Then, the international community rushed into Kabul with the idea of reforming the legal structure of the country, disregarding the one in power. Ten years later, after spending almost a billion dollars, setting up various groups to achieve this, the effort is a failure. Corruption persists, the citizens respect the "white beards", the tribal elders, who have always ruled.

The "Global Post" report states that violence against women has never been higher and, yet, they are denied justice. The "Tribal Courts" are, of course, completely dominated by men...a girl or woman can be bartered as settlement in a dispute between families. The US is funding these courts with $15 million this year...continuing to give power to a system that will never defend the rights of women.

Today I read that the feminist icon, Gloria Steinem, is in a video produced by President Obama's re-election campaign. She states that women should vote for Obama as this is a "turning point" election...our rights will only be protected if he stays in office.

Everything that he stands for displays his deep respect for the women in his life...from his grandmother, mother, wife and daughters...he's a champion for women.

What kind of sickness has infected the Republican power players, who make the most outrageous statements regarding women???
